The Wall

Education has existed for many years and is one of the vital things nowadays. As generations change, so has to do education and teachers need to find a way to involve teenagers and want them to learn. One of the greatest work of Pink Floyd was the movie “Pink Floyd: The Wall”, screened in 1982. This movie is a combination of action, memories and music which gives us a clearly example of what was on the author's mind and how was education at that time.
Many people see education as a way of controlling children’s minds, making them think as their teacher. For many years children were taught that not to agree with their teacher was disrespectful because they needed to see their teachers as superiors, as they know all the answers and the correct angers was only the one they said. There were teachers who oppress student’s ideas and do not let them be or neither think different, making them all the same. Nowadays children are learning that there is an outside world behind their teachers mind and there are a lot of questions with many different answers.
One example of thought control embodies in the movie “The Wall” in one song in particular, “Another brick in the wall”. This song describes Pink’s days in school, and in the video it's shown how students claimed for a better education. However, they are not against education itself but in the type of education they are receiving, kids are upset with teachers because they do not need someone to tell them how they need to think or either control their thoughts. Moreover, on this scene, they all march with equal masks showing how teachers are making students all the same without letting them spread their ideas and be different.
In conclusion, education is a very important thing and needs to be recognised because it is indispensable on someone's life. However, it needs to be applied in a good way and it shouldn't exist teachers who are oppressors of a student thought.
